Nolan Schmidt (Writer/Producer/Director)

Nolan Schmidt is an award-winning independent filmmaker and a native of Seguin, Texas.

Schmidt was born on September 13, 1991 in his hometown of Seguin to the proud parents, John and Deborah Schmidt. While he was growing up, his favorite pastime was watching movies on both television and at the local cinemas. He got his first interest in film by filming short home movies during 2002 to 2007. Finally, he founded his own film company, NHS Films, and released his first short film, Reaper Island, in 2008. In 2009, he made and released four short films: Ugly Teeth, Ranchers, Funny Day, and That's My Pizza! (which won a Director's Award at the 2009 Seguin Film and Arts Festival). Throughout 2010 and 2011, he made two revenge dramas, The Ungrateful Killers and Hammershot's Run, along with two comedies and two other films in collaboration with another group. In 2012, Schmidt made three short film projects, entitled Pastry, The Atonement, and Innocent Dreams. Then, in 2013, he made his first documentary short film, The Park of Elm Creek. After a near seven year hiatus, Schmidt would return to film-making with the release of Reaper Island Part II, Night of the Ghoul, SirCooly's Late Halloween Special, and SirCooly's Christmas Special Yo!
