11/14/2023 Nolan Schmidt files run for Libertarian nomination for Guadalupe County Commissioner, Precinct 1 As of today, I, Nolan Schmidt, have officially filed for my run for the Libertarian nomination for Guadalupe County Commissioner, Precinct 1! When I ran for County Judge in 2022, I was impressed with the voter turnout, and it gives me the hope of Guadalupe County becoming a liberty-responsible County. This is why I decided to run again for office next year. If elected, I will support property taxes going even lower than they currently are, and I will promote alternative ways to fund County projects that encourages voluntaryism (where it is the individual choice of the citizen to fund a project or not). I also strongly believe that small businesses here in Guadalupe County are an important cornerstone in our history and community as seen by me from the hard work my parents had done as small business owners before their Retirement earlier this year. I will support protection and programs that will strongly benefit small businesses. Finally, as a special needs advocate, I am for the creation of a county-wide outreach program that will help connect families who have members of the special needs community with local non-profit organizations that assist with said families as well as create a business campaign to encourage small businesses in Guadalupe County to hire adults with special needs looking for employment as it will benefit both parties. Business with dedicated workers who will receive tax cuts through the American with Disabilities Act, and employees with special needs who are willing and wanting to work having a job within the county. All of this can be possible without spending a cent from taxpayers. Guadalupe County, with your support, we can make our county marvelous with liberty!
